New Brunswick Regional Stream Sediment Project, 1971-1984
Project Description
During a fourteen year period, from 1971 to 1984, systematic sampling of stream sediments was carried out in a large portion of western and central New Brunswick as far north as the Quebec border. In 1979, one survey was carried out in southern New Brunswick.
The -80 mesh fraction of samples was analysed by AAS for some combination of Cu, Pb, Zn, Mn, Fe, Mo, W and U. Samples from some of the surveys in later years were also analysed for Ag, Co and Ni. For many surveys, samples were later analysed for As, Sb, Ba and Au.
The data are presented on a series of New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources map plates that are listed on the metadata page for each individual survey catalogued in this project.
