Survey Description


In 1972, stream and spring sediments were collected in the Florenceville, Coldstream, Napadogan, Millville and Burtts Corner map sheets in west central New Brunswick.  The -80 mesh fraction was analysed for uranium by Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd using delayed neutron activation.  No information was provided for other analyses.

In 1988, samples weighing >15 g were analysed for As, Sb, Ba, Au by Chemex Labs Ltd. using AAS.

The data are presented on a series of New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources map plates:

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers the east half of NTS 21J/5 (Florenceville), all of 21J/6 (Coldstream, the west half of 21J/7 (Napadogan) and extends south into 21J/2 (Burtts Corner) and 21J/3 (Millville) in west-central New Brunswick.  It is bounded to the west by the Maine-New Brunswick border.  The Saint John River runs north-south through the western part of the study area.
