Survey Description

In 1977, stream and spring sediment s were collected in the Plaster Rock and Tuadook Lake map sheets in central New Brunswick.  The -80 mesh fraction of the samples was analysed by atomic absorption by the Mineral Resources Branch of New Brunswick DNR using a hot nitric acid digestion.  Uranium was analysed by Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. using delayed neutron activation.

In 1988, samples weighing >15 g from the east half of NTS 21J/14 and the east half of 21J/15 were analysed for As, Sb, Ba, Au by Chemex Labs Ltd. using AAS.

The data are presented on a series of New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources map plates: MP 79-45a-g, MP 79-46a-f and MP 79-47a-g.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers all of NTS 21J/15 (Tuadook Lake) and the east half of 21J/14 (Plaster Rock) in central New Brunswick.  Long Lake and Trousers Lake lie just north of the study area.  The town of Plaster Rock is located approximately 10 km west of the western edge of the study area.
