Survey Description


During the summer of 1986, helicopter and truck-supported stream sediment and water sampling was carried out in western Yukon Territory.  Samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 13 km2 throughout the 16,600 km2 survey area.  Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 1364.  The data were re-released as a digital version of Open File 1364 in 2001.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 115O and the eastern half of 115N in western Yukon.  It is bounded to the west by the Yukon-Alaska border.
