Survey Description


During the summer of 1986, helicopter and truck-supported stream sediment and water sampling was carried out in southwest Yukon Territory.  Samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 13 km2 throughout the 17,200 km2 survey area.  Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 1363.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 115J and the eastern half of 115K in western Yukon.  It is bounded to the west by the Yukon-Alaska border.
