Survey Description


During the summer and fall of 1991, stream sediment and water samples were collected from 430 sites in southwestern New Brunswick.  Sample sites were distributed over the 1075 km2 survey area at an average of one sample per 2.5 km2.  Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples.  The data are published in GSC Open File 2470.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers the west half of NTS 21J/2 and the east half of 21J/3 in southwestern New Brunswick.  It is bounded to the south by latitude 46°, to the north by latitude 46°15', to the west by longitude 67°15' and to the east by longitude 66°45'.
