Project Metadata

The Interior Plateau Program was an initiative that was funded by and operated under the guidelines of the Mineral Development Agreement 1991-1995 (MDA). It was a collaborative effort involving scientists from both the Geological Survey of Canada and British Columbia Geological Survey Branch working on several multidisciplinary projects throughout the Interior Plateau region of British Columbia.  Projects included bedrock and surficial geology mapping, lake sediment and till sampling as well as mineral deposit studies.  Studies of the Babine porphyry copper belt were carried out in this project.

The data from the Manson River and Fort Fraser map areas can also be found as part of a compilation in GSC Open File 2270 which contains data for samples from NTS 93K, N and F, collected in both this project and the Nechako NATMAP project.

*GSC Open File 4166 compiles all published and unpublished data from the Nechako River map area (93F) collected by the GSC and the BCGS, including data collected under the Nechako NATMAP Project.
