Survey Description


In 1992, during surficial mapping carried out in the Interior Plateau region, central British Columbia, 331 till and colluviated till samples were collected.  Samples weighed between 1-5 kg and were collected at an average density of one sample per 10.6 km 2.  Samples were taken from undisturbed, unweathered C horizon (parent material) deposits.

The data are published in British Columbia Geological Survey GeoFile 2006-1.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 93C/1 (Chilanko Forks), /8 (Chzacut), /9 (Clusko River) and /16 (Toil Mountain) in the Fraser Plateau area of central British Columbia.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 73 km east of the town of Anahim Lake.  Pyper Lake and part of Tatla Lake are found in the southern part of the study area.
