Survey Description

In summer 2015, till, stream and lake sediments and water samples were collected in the Sylvia Grinnell Lake map area, Baffin Island.  The samples were processed for geochemistry and heavy minerals.

Sample Type Number of Samples Data
till ~2 kg 63 geochemistry
bulk till ~11 kg 61 heavy minerals
bulk stream sediment ~14 kg 74 heavy minerals
stream sediment (silt) 76

A summary of the work can be found in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 7973 and Canada-Nunavut Geoscience Office Summary of Activities 2016 (p.13-26) and the data (GDS2016-001) can be downloaded from their site.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.
