Survey Description


In 1990, approximately 3500 lake sediment samples were collected in the Blanc-Sablon region, Côte-Nord, Quebec.  The survey was carried out over an area of approximately 3 700 km2 at an average sampling density of one sample per 10.5 km2.

The data are published as a series of maps in Quebec Department of Energy and Resources MB 90-33.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers parts of NTS 12J (Harrington Harbour), K (Musquaro), N (Rivière Natashquan), O (Saint-Augustin) and P (Blanc-Sablon) in the Côte-Nord region of Quebec.  It is bounded to the north and east by the Quebec-Labrador border and to the south by the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
