Stream sediment sampling survey, Grenville Orogenic Province, Quebec, 1965-1970



Project Description

From 1965 to 1970, the Department of Natural Resources began reconnaissance mapping of the Grenville Orogenic Province of the Canadian Shield.  Complying with the Department policy, stream sediments were collected during mapping projects.  During the six year period, a territory of 220,000 km2 between Chibougamau and Natashquan was covered.  This project increased the comprehension of its involved tectonic history.
