Between 1968 and 1969, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Betsiamites and Moisie rivers region, Quebec. The area covers 75,000 km2. A total of 762 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 98.4 km2 and analysed for:
|Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo||
|Ni, Co||pyrosulfate fusion||visual colorimetry|
|Mn, Ag||aqua-regia||atomic absorption (AAS)|
The data are published in geological report RG-162, Department of Natural Resources, 1975. This report is the second of a series of 3 publications following a geological reconnaissance program in the Grenville Province, known as the "Grenville Project".

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:
Covers NTS 22O (Lac Fouquet), /K (Lac Berte), /J (Sept-Îles) and parts of 22F (Baie-Comeau), /G (Cap-Chat), /C (Rimouski). This survey is the eastward continuation of the Grenville project. It is bounded by latitudes 48o and 52o and longitudes 66o and 70o. The north shore of the St.-Lawrence River marks the southern limit of the area.
