Survey Description

In 2011, the Spiritwood borehole was drilled near Cartright, Manitoba.  For this study, 121 analyses using a portable XRF (pXRF) spectrometer were taken on the sediment core in situ.  Generally, two analyses were taken, one at 40 cm and one at 110 cm from the top.

pXRF analyses were also obtained from 58 sediment samples that were freeze-dried, disaggregated and sieved to < 63 μm (silt + clay) at the GSC Sedimentology Laboratories in Ottawa.

The data are published in Geological Survey of Canda Open File 7262.
