Survey Description


In 2012, stream sediment and water samples were collected around Duggan Lake, southeast of Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut.  Samples were collected at 244 sites.  Some stream sediments were also collected for heavy mineral processing.

The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 7471.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers all of NTS 76H (Duggan Lake) and the southern part of 76I (Overby Lake) south of the Queen Maud Gulf Migratory Bird Sanctuary, Nunavut.  It is located approximately 191 km southwest of Queen Maud Gulf.
