Survey Description

During the summer of 1987, helicopter and truck-supported lake sediment and water collection was carried out in the Marathon area, northwestern Ontario.  Samples were collected at an average density of one sample per 3 km2 throughout the survey area.  Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 2026.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.
