Survey Description
Lake sediment and water samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 13 km2. The helicopter-supported survey was carried out between July 8 and August 20, 1982. Sample site duplicate samples were routinely collected in each analytical block of twenty samples. The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 904.
A collection of small areas was visited, to complete NGR coverage of an area previously sampled in 1978 (and published in GSC Open File 560), resulting in complete coverage of those parts of 23I, J and O that lie within Labrador. In 1988, the samples were reanalysed by INAA and republished as GSC Open File 2037/Newfoundland Department of Mines and Energy Open File LAB 836.
Data from this survey is part of a compilation published in GSC Open File 8348 (geochemical atlas).
This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.
