Survey Description

About 420 till samples were collected in northern Manitoba in 1977-1980.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Current Research Paper 83-01B and GSC Open File 931.  In 2006, the data were released in a digital format in GSC Open File 5320.

The silt+clay fraction (<0.063 mm) of 158 of the original samples was reanalysed by ICP-ES and INAA in 2007 and the data are published in GSC Open File 5546.

These data are also part of 4 compilations: Geological Survey of Canada Open File 7064, Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development open files: OF 2020-2, OF2020-3 and OF2020-5.

Data Description:

Paper report; no data lists (Paper 83-01B). 11 paper maps (OF 931).

Quantities Analysed:

<0.002 mm fraction by AAS after reverse aqua regia for Cu, Zn, Pb, Co, Ni, Mo, Cr, Mn, and Fe and by fluorometry after nitric acid digestion for U.

Geochem Maps Available:

Summary map plot showing distribution of high-U sites (Paper 83-01B).  Series of maps shows the element values at each sample site (OF 931).
