Survey Description


In 2010, a regional lake bottom sediment survey was carried out in the Minganie area near Havre-st-Pierre, Côte-Nord territory, Quebec.

In total, 352 samples were collected over an area of about 3,654 km2 for a sampling density of approximately 1 sample for every 11 km2.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 12L/5 (Lac du Gros Diable), 12L/6 (Lac à l’Ours), 12L/11 (Lac-Allard) and 12L/12 (Lac Cugnet) in the Minganie region, Côte-Nord territory, Quebec.  It is located just north of the town of Havre-St-Pierre.  It is bounded to the north by 50.75° N latitude and to the south by Highway 138.
