Survey Description


During the summer of 1984, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Romanet area, Quebec.  The area covers 160 km2 (2 sites).  A total of 238 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.7 km2.  Samples were analyzed for:

 

Element Dissolution Technique
Loss on ignition (LOI)    
U   fluorimetry
Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Ag, Bi, Mo, Sn, Fe   atomic absorption (AAS)

 

The data are published in Open File MB 86-39, Department of Energy and Resources, 1986.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 24B/4 (Lac Dunphy), /5 (Lac Veillard).  The Lac Romanet area is situated in the Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 56°13' and 56°22' and longitudes 67°45' and 68°.

  • Covers part of NTS 24B/4 (Lac Dunphy) and 23O/13 (Lac Ribero).  The Lac Romanet area is situated in the Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 55°50' and 56°07' and longitudes 67°33' and 67°55'.
