Survey Description


During the summer of 1983, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Colombet area, Quebec.  The area covers 21 km2.  A total of 19 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 1.1 km2.  Samples were analyzed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Ag, Fe, Al, As, B, Ba, Be, Ca, Cd, Ce, Cr, Eu, K, La, Li, Mg, Mo, Na, P, Sc, Sm, Sr, Th, Ti, V, Y (atomic absorption) and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File MB 86-10, Department of Energy and Resources, 1986.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 24F/2 (Lac Jogues).  Lac Colombet (Wapanikskan) is located in the Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 57° and 57°02' and longitudes 68°52' and 68°54'30".
