Survey Description


During the summers of 1982 and 1983, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Musset area, Quebec.  The area covers 140 km2.  A total of 219 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.6 km2. Samples were analyzed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Ag, Fe, Al, As, B, Ba, Be, Ca, Cd, Ce, Cr, Eu, K, La, Li, Mg, Mo, Na, P, Sc, Sm, Sr, Th, Ti, V, Y, Sn (atomic absorption), U (fluorimetry) and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File MB 86-09, Department of Energy and Resources, 1986.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 23O/9 (Lac Rivet).  The Lac Musset area is located in the Labrador Trough, Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 55°30' and 55°37' and longitudes 66°08' and 66°28'.
