Survey Description


During the summer of 1983, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac de la Hutte Sauvage, Quebec.  The area covers 1200 km2.  A total of 264 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 4.5 km2.  Samples were analyzed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Mo, As, Al, Ba, B, Be, Ca, Cd, Ce, Cr, Eu, Fe, Hg, K, La, Li, Mg, Na, P, Sc, Sm, Sn, Sr, Th, Ti, V, Y (atomic absorption), U (paper chromatography) and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File MB 85-52, Department of Energy and Resources, 1985.

  • Covers NTS 24A/2 (Rivière Deat), /7 (Lac de la Hutte Sauvage).  Lac de la Hutte Sauvage is situated in the Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 56° and 56°30' and longitudes 64°30' and 65°.
