Survey Description


During the summer of 1982, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Romanet west area, Quebec.  The area covers 130 km2.  A total of 255 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.88 km2.  Samples were analyzed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Mo, Cd, Sn (atomic absorption), U (paper chromatography) and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File MB 85-50, Department of Energy and Resources, 1985.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 24B/2 (Lac Beaufort), /3 (Lac Gachet), /4 (Lac Dunphy), /5 (Lac Veillard), /6 (Lac Duhamel), /7 (Lac Saint-Servan).  The western part of Lac Romanet is situated in the Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 56°13' and 56°22' and longitudes 67°45' and 68°.
