Survey Description


During the summer of 1977, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Duparquet-La Sarre area, Quebec.  The area covers 550 km2.  A total of 77 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 7.1 km2.  Samples were analyzed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Ag, Sn, Mn (atomic absorption) and U (paper chromatography).

The data are published in Open File MB 85-28, Department of Energy and Resources, 1985.

This survey is part of a compilation of geochemical surveys published in DV 87-22.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32D/6 (Rivière Kanasuta), /11 (Palmarolle).  The Duparquet-La Sarre area is situated in the Abitibi region.  It is bounded by latitudes 48°32' and 48°50' and longitudes 79° and 79°20'.
