Survey Description


In 1981, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Maniwaki-Gracefield area, Quebec.  The area covers 221 km2.  A total of 200 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 1.1 km2. These samples were analysed for Ag, Al, B, Ba, Be, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cu, Eu, Fe, K, La, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, Sc, Sm, Sr, Th, Ti, V, Y, Zn and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File MM 82-03, Department of Energy and Resources, 1983.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers parts of NTS 31K/1 (Blue Sea Lake) and 31J/4 (Bouchette).  The Maniwaki-Gracefield area is situated in the Outaouais region.  It is located 10 km south of the city of Maniwaki, Gatineau county.  It includes the cities of Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gatineau, Bouchette, Messines, Blue Sea, Gracefield, Point-Comfort, Farley, Clément and McBean.  It is bounded by latitudes 46°04' and 46°11' and longitudes 75°52' and 76°05'.
