Survey Description


During the summer of 1980, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the half east of Bignell township, Quebec.  The area covers 128 km2.  A total of 119 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 1.1 km2  These samples were analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Mo, Li, Ag, Cd, Ba, U and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File DPV-893, Department of Energy and Resources, 1982.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32I/4 (Lac des Canots). The eastern half of Bignell township area is situated in the Abitibi (east) county, Nord-du-Québec region. It is located 40 km northeast of Chibougamau. It is bounded by latitudes 50°01' and 50°10' and longitudes 73°34'15" and 73°54'06".
