Survey Description


In 1979, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in Preissac area, Quebec.  The area covers 440 km2.  A total of 59 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 7.5 km2.  These samples were analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Mo, Li, U.

The data are published in Open File DPV-779, Department of Energy and Resources, 1980.

This survey is part of a compilation of geochemical surveys published in DV 87-22.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32D/8 (La Motte). The Preissac area is situated in the Abitibi region. It includes Preissac township and parts of La Pause, Villemontel, Figuery, La Motte, Malartic and Cadillac townships. It is bounded by latitudes 48°15' and 48°27' and longitudes 78°11' and 78°27'.
