Survey Description


In 1978, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Bignell township, Quebec.  The area covers 125 km2.  A total of 61 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 2.2 km2.  These samples were analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Mo, Ag, Sn (atomic absorption), U by paper chromatography and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File DPV-678, Department of Natural Resources, 1979.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32I/4 (Lac des Canots) and 32J/1 (Lac Waconichi). The west half of Bignelle township is situated east of Lac Waconichi. Its center is 38 km northeast of Chibougamau. It is bounded by latitudes 50° and 50°11' and longitudes 73°47' and 74°02'.
