Survey Description


During the summers of 1977-1978, a stream sediment and soil sampling survey was conducted in the Maniwaki region, Quebec.  The area covers 264 km2.  A total of 119 stream sediments were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 2.2 km2.  These samples were analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Ag, Sn, U and loss on ignition.

A total of 43 soil samples, collected in Des Nègres and Parker areas, were analysed for Cu, Pb and Zn.

The data are published in Open File DP-599, Department of Natural Resources, 1978.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 31J/4 (Bouchette), /5 (west) (Maniwaki), 31K/1 (east) (Blue Sea Lake), /8 (east) (Lac Pythonga). The Maniwaki region is located in Gatineau county. It is situated 10 km south of Maniwaki and includes Blue Sea Lake and Lac Roddick. It is bounded by latitudes 46°05' and 46°18' and longitudes 75°53'30" and 76°02'.
