Survey Description


During the summers of 1974-1977, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the La Dauversière, Rohault and Fancamp townships, Quebec.  The area covers 400 km2.  A total of 163 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 1.8 km2.  Samples were screened to obtain the <177 microns fraction and theses fractions were analysed for:

U   paper chromatography

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32G/7 (Lac Surprise), /8 (Lac Rohault), /9 (Lac Boisvert), /10 (Lac à l'Eau Jaune). La Dauversière, Rohault and Fancamp townships are located in the Abitibi area. The region is situated 45 km south of Chibougamau. It is bounded by latitudes 49°25' and 49°38' and longitudes 74°21' and 74°39'.
