Survey Description


In 1977, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the River Broadback area, Quebec.  The area covers 300 km2.  A total of 104 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 3.8 km2.  Samples were screened to obtain the <177 microns fraction and theses fractions were analysed for:

Cu, Pb, Zn, Mn, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Sn, Mo   atomic absorption (AAS)
U   paper chromatography

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32K/15 (Lake Evans), /16 (Lac Theodat). The Rivière Broadback region is located in the Abitibi area. It is situated 165 km north of Chibougamau. It is bounded by latitudes 50°45' and 50°55' and longitudes 76°20' and 76°45'.
