Survey Description


In 1972, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Bueil region, Quebec.  The area covers 1000 km2.  A total of 244 stream sediment samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 4.1 km2.  Samples were analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn (HNO3, atomic absorption).

The data are published in geological report RG-189, Department of Natural Resources, 1977.  A compilation is also available and data are published in Open File MB 84-18, Department of Energy and Resources, 1984.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32J/16 (Lac Bueil). The area studied is located in south-central Québec, in the Nord-du-Québec region. The center of the Lac Bueil quadrangle lies 70 miles north of Chibougamau. It is bounded by latitudes 50°45' and 51° and longitudes 74° and 74°30'.
