Survey Description


Between 1973 and 1974, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Nachikapau area, Quebec.  The area covers 4000 km 2. A total of 660 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 6.1 km 2 and analysed for:

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 24B/12 (Lac Horseshoe), 24C/9 (Lac Nachicapau), /10 (Lac Patu), /15 (Fort-Mackenzie), /16 (Lac Marcel) and 24F/1 (Lac Buteux), /2 (Lac Jogues), /3 (Lac La Lande), /6 (Lac du Canyon), /7 (Lac Herodier), /8 (Lac Souel). The Lac Nachikapau area is situated in the Nord-du-Québec region. It includes Lac Jogues, Lac Erlandson, Lac Marcel and Lac Buteux. It is bounded by latitudes 56°30' and 57°15' and longitudes 67°45' and 68°45'.

  • Covers NTS 24F/3 (Lac La Lande), /4 (Lac Drumlin), /5 (Lac Forbes), /6 (Lac du Canyon). The Lac Nachikapau area is located in the Nord-du-Québec region. It includes Lac La Lande. It is bounded by latitudes 57° and 57°15' and longitudes 69° and 69°30'.
