Survey Description


In 1976, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Rivière Eastmain area, Quebec.  The area covers 1400 km 2. A total of 38 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 36.8 km 2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Sb, Ba, Li, U, Mo, Ag, Hg, As and Sn.

The data are published in Open File DPV-450, Department of Natural Resources, 1977.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 33C/1 (Lac Pivert), /2 (Lac Anatacau), /3 (Rivière Miskimatao), /6 (Lac Duxbury), /7 (Lac Kauputauchechun), /8 (Lac Wapamisk). The Rivière Eastmain region is located in the Nord-du-Québec area. It includes Rivière Miskimatao and part of Réservoir Opinaca. It is bounded by latitudes 52°08' and 52°22' and longitudes 76°10' and 77°46'.
