Survey Description


In 1976, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Rivière Eastmain area, Quebec.  The area covers 1400 km2. A total of 38 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 36.8 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Sb, Ba, Li, U, Mo, Ag, Hg, As and Sn.

The data are published in Open File DPV-450, Department of Natural Resources, 1977.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 33C/1 (Lac Pivert), /2 (Lac Anatacau), /3 (Rivière Miskimatao), /6 (Lac Duxbury), /7 (Lac Kauputauchechun), /8 (Lac Wapamisk). The Rivière Eastmain region is located in the Nord-du-Québec area. It includes Rivière Miskimatao and part of Réservoir Opinaca. It is bounded by latitudes 52°08' and 52°22' and longitudes 76°10' and 77°46'.
