Survey Description


In the summer of 1964, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Briand-Mitchell region, Quebec.  The area covers 712 km2.  A total of 217 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 3.3 km2 and analysed for:

The data are published in Open File DPV-572, Department of Natural Resources, 1978.  In 1976, data were also published in Open File DP-394.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 31K/16 (Lac Kellog). The Briand-Mitchell area is bounded by latitudes 46°40' and 47° and longitudes 76° and 76°15'. The southeastern corner is located 32 km north of Maniwaki and the area is located south of Parc La Vérendrye.
