Survey Description

In 1969-1971, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Vauquelin and Denain townships area, Quebec.  The area covers 400 km2.  A total of 147 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 2.7 km2 and analysed for:

Element Dissolution Technique
Cu, Pb, Zn

HNO3

visual colorimetry
U

HNO3

visual colorimetry
Co, Ni pyrosulfate fusion visual colorimetry
Mn aqua-regia + HCl atomic absorption (AAS)

Samples collected in 1970-71 were analysed by atomic absorption (except for uranium).

The data are published in Open File DP-301, Department of Natural Resources, 1971.  This survey is part of a compilation of geochemical surveys published in DV 87-22.
