Survey Description


In 1971, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Baie du Poste area, Quebec.  The area covers 110 km2.  A total of 137 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.8 km2 and analysed for Cu, Zn, Pb, Co, Ni, Ag, Mn, U.  All analyses were done by atomic absorption, except for uranium (chromatography).

The data are published in preliminary report RP-610, Department of Natural Resources, 1975.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32I/5 (Baie-du-Poste).  The southern part of the Baie du Poste area covers part of O'Sullivan township and part of Gauvin township.  It is located in Parc Mistassini, approximately 35 miles north of the town of Chibougamau.
