Survey Description


In 1971, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Patu area, Quebec.  The area covers 850 km2.  A total of 153 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 5.5 km2 and analysed for Cu, Zn, Pb, Co, Ni, Ag, Mn, U, Sb.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-603, Department of Natural Resources, 1973.  This survey is also part of a compilation published in 1979, called RG-195.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 24C/10 (Lac Patu).  The Lac Patu area is bounded by latitudes 56°30' and 56°45' and longitudes 68°30' and 69° and is situated 145 miles north-northwest of Schefferville.  It includes Lac de l'Hématite and Lac Canichico.
