Survey Description


In 1966, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Baskatong reservoir area (west half), Quebec.  The area covers 550 km2.  A total of 144 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 3.8 km2 and analysed for Cu, Mo, Pb, Zn, Ni and U.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-572, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1968.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 31J/13 (west) (Reservoir Baskatong).  The Réservoir Baskatong area (west half) includes parts of Briand, Mitchell and Baskatong townships, all in Gatineau county.  The southern limit of the area is 12 miles north of Grand-Remous and the southeast corner is 20 miles northwest of Mont-Laurier.
