Survey Description
In June and July 2001, a lake sediment and water quality survey was carried out in the Sudbury area, northern Ontario as part of Operation Treasure Hunt.
A total of 1489 lake sites were visited and 1300 lake sediment samples were collected.
The data are published in Ontario Geological Survey Open File Report OFR6126 and Miscellaneous Release-Data, MRD131.
The data are also part of a compilation database, Lake Geochemistry of Ontario – 2019.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 41I/6 (Copper Cliff), 41I/7 (Coniston), 41I/10 (Capreol), 41I/11 (Chelmsford) and 41I/15 (Milnet) in the Greater Sudbury area, northern Ontario. Wanapitei Lake is found in the northeast part of the study area. The centre of the study area is located approximately 75 km northwest from Lake Nipigon and 100 km northeast from North Channel.
