Survey Description
In August 2000, a high-density lake sediment and water quality survey was carried out in the Fort Hope area, northwestern Ontario as part of Operation Treasure Hunt.
A total of 3811 lake sites were visited and 3694 lake sediment samples were collected.
The data are published in Ontario Geological Survey Open File Report OFR6071 and Miscellaneous Release-Data, MRD089.
The data are also part of a compilation database, Lake Geochemistry of Ontario – 2019.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers the western part of NTS 42M (Fort Hope) and the eastern part of 52P (Miminiska Lake) in northwestern Ontario. It is bounded to the south by 51°N latitude and to the east by 87°W longitude. The centre of the study area is located approximately 145 km northeast of the northern shore of Lake Nipigon. Eabamet Lake is located in the study area.
