Survey Description


In July and August 1999, a high-density lake sediment and water survey was carried out in the Shebandowan Lake area, northern Ontario at an average density of 1 sample per 2 km2.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 52B/2 (Saganaga; the Canadian part), /7 (Mowe Lake), /9 (Shebandowan), /10 (Burchell Lake) and part of 52B/11 (Pickerel Lake) in the Shebandowan Lake area, northern Ontario.  It is bounded to the east by 90°W longitude and to the south by the Ontario-Minnesota border.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 111 km west of Thunder Bay.
