Survey Description
In July and August 1997, a high-density lake sediment and water survey was carried out in the Atikokan-Lumby Lake area, northwestern Ontario.

The data are published in Ontario Geological Survey (OGS) Miscellaneous Release Data, MRD043.
As part of Operation Treasure Hunt, the samples were reanalyzed for Au and PGEs. The data are published in Ontario Geological Survey OFR6034 and MRD063.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 52B/13 (Atikokan), 52B/14 (Sapawe), 52G/03 (Gulliver Lake) and most of 52B/15 (Bedivere Lake) in northwestern Ontario. It is bounded to the south by 48.75°N latitude. The northern part of the study area is located just west of the rural community of English River and the southern part of the study area is located just west of Lac des Mille Lacs.
