Survey Description
In 1996, a high-density lake sediment and water survey was carried out in the area of the headwaters of the Montreal River. The study area includes 32 geographic townships and covers approximately 2,700 km2.
Sample Type | Number of Samples | OGS Open File Report |
Lake sediment | 1172 | OFR5962 |
Lake water | 1336 |
The data are published in Ontario Geological Survey (OGS) Miscellaneous Release Data, MRD031.
As part of Operation Treasure Hunt, 790 samples were reanalyzed for Au and PGEs. The data are published in Ontario Geological Survey OFR6061 and MRD080.
The data are also part of a compilation database, Lake Geochemistry of Ontario – 2019.
