Survey Description
Stream water samples were collected in the vicinity of the former Rambler Mines on the Baie Verte Peninsula, Newfoundland to asses the impact of mining operations on water quality in the surrounding drainage systems. Samples were collected in background areas and downstream from mine workings and tailings.
Year | Number of Samples | Comments |
1993 | 86 | 54 samples are from 29 sites that were sampled in both early June and late August |
2000 | unknown | several of the 1993 sites as well as additional sites were sampled |
2001 | 45 | samples were collected from 42 sites including 12 sites sampled in 1993 and 2000 |
A description of the study can be found in Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Mines and Energy Currrent Research 2002.
