Survey Description

More than 2000 samples were collected in 1975 and 1976 in the Baker Lake area, Nunavut.  The data were published in GSC Open File 1335.  The samples were reanalyzed using improved analytical methods and republished in GSC Open File 3243.  A Quaternary framework for drift prospecting in the area was published in GSC Bulletin 485.

Data Description:

Paper report and paper maps (OF 1335); Paper report and 4 diskettes (ASCII, dBase3.0 and Excel 3.0) (OF 3243).

Quantities Analysed:

<0.063 mm fraction by ICP-AES after hot nitric-aqua regia digestion for 31 elements; by INAA for 34 elements (OF 3243).

Geochem Maps Available:

Proportional dot maps showing regional distribution of U, Au, Ag, As, Hg, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Cr, Ba, Fe Mg, V, and Sr (OF 3243).
