Survey Description

During the summer of 1977, a geochemical exploration survey was carried out by SOQUEM over a 56,000 km2 area in the Manicouagan region, Quebec. A total of 4876 lake bottom sediment samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 11.5 km2.  The samples were analyzed for Cu, Pb, Zn Ni, Co, Mn, Mo, Fe and U.

Subsequently, the results were transferred to MERQ.  The data are published in Quebec Ministère de l’Énergie et des Ressources Open File DP 86-18 (11 maps) and Manuscrit brut MB 86-64 (raw data).
