Survey Description

In the summer of 1967, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted by SOQUEM in the west part of the Chaleur Bay area.  The area covers 2300 km2.  A total of 6096 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.4 km2 and analysed for Cu, Zn, Pb, Mn, Ni, Co, Ag, Sb, Mo and U.  The analysis was done using atomic absorption technique (acid dissolution), except for the determinations of Mo and U.

The data are published on maps in Open File DP-55, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1971.

Results are also published in DV 82-02, Department of Natural Resources, 1983.  Some samples were reanalysed for arsenic and results are published in DV 87-18.
