Survey Description

In July and August 2018, fieldwork was carried out on the north coast of Fury and Hecla Strait, on northwestern Baffin Island, Nunavut.  Till was sampled with a shovel from frost boils between 0 and 40 cm from the surface at 45 sites.  Samples for sedimentological and geological analyses weighed approximately 2 kg and about 9 kg for heavy mineral processing.

The work is described in Canada-Nunavut Geoscience Office (CNGO) Summary of Activities 2018 and 2019.  The data are published in CNGO Geoscience Data Series GDS2020-001.  Note that this file also includes data for samples collected on Bylot Island and west of the Barnes Ice Cap.
