Survey Description
In 2007 and 2008, samples of stream sediment, stream water and till were collected in the Ts'ude niline Tu'eyeta (Ramparts River and wetlands) Candidate Protected Area in Northwest Territories. The work was part of a non-renewable resource assessment of minerals. The following sample types were collected:
Number of Samples | Sample Type |
318 | bulk stream sediment |
88 | till |
682 | stream sediment |
688 | stream water |
Heavy mineral concentrates from the bulk stream sediment and till samples were processed for kimberlite indicator minerals (KIM), magmatic/metamorphosed massive sulphide indicator minerals (MMSIM) and gold grains.
The data are published in Northwest Territories Geoscience Office (NTGO) NWT Open File 2010-07.
This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:
-
Covers parts of NTS 106G (Ramparts River), H (Sans Sault Rapids), I (Fort Good Hope) and J (Ontaratue River), the Ts'ude niline Tu'eyeta candidate protected area (Ramparts River and wetlands), western Northwest Territories. It is bounded to the east by the Mackenzie River and is located approximately 50 km east of the YT-NT border.
